'No inferiority' - Doncaster Rovers captain Owen Bailey keen to see positives despite Leicester City loss

Doncaster Rovers captain Owen Bailey was keen to see the positive after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
It was Rovers’ first defeat since a 1-0 loss to AFC Wimbledon on 12 September putting an end to a two-match winning streak in the league.
Reflecting on the game, the skipper said: “I think it's a frustrating day, I think we all created some good stuff, particularly in the first half an hour, I think we were really good and created some good moments to create opportunities.

“We couldn’t quite take that final pass and find the man in the box or whatever it might be. Then obviously, probably come off it a little bit in the last 15 of the first half. They scored a great goal to be fair, but it’s a set play and ultimately we'll look at it as it's something that we need try and prevent. It's a real kick in the teeth just before half-time.
“I thought we reacted quite well, I thought we started the second half quite well. Then obviously we became a bit passive for the second goal, really preventable from us. But then the reaction was brilliant, I thought the subs were massive.
“I thought we ended the game really well and there's only one team that's going to score if there's going to be another goal. But ultimately we've come away with nothing, so it's a tough one really, but there’s definitely positives to take home.”
Bailey went on to credit the team for the strides they’ve taken in their second season back in League One. The all-action midfielder believes the team handled the occasion well despite the final outcome.
He said: “I think obviously the groups used to League One now, we know what it's all about. Obviously, Leicester is a big club. Premier League, not long to go and all the rest of it. I was really proud of how the lads played themselves today.
“I didn't think they felt inferior in any way.I don't think the occasion at all got to them. I thought the lads handled it really well and ultimately were here on merit. I think that's the way you have to treat these games in the day. There was certainly no kind of inferiority from us.
“Just a couple of rubs of the green here and there, which didn't quite go our way. But like I said before something positive to take away. I think on another day we'll come away 2-2, maybe even nick a winner.”
