Mascot from Isle in charity cup race

Isle mascot ongo bear will go fur gold in the world’s largest mascot race at Wetherby Races, West Yorkshire on Sunday.

The Mascot Gold Cup, sponsored by Foresters, is celebrating its tenth anniversary and as part of the milestone celebrations, the fundraising team at organisers Sue Ryder aim to break the Guinness World Record for the most mascots in a race.

Last year, over 80 larger than life furry characters took part and this year over 100 are expected, which will be enough to establish a new World Record in a 1Km run to take place before the Mascot Gold Cup itself.
