Man in hospital after police car smash shuts major Doncaster road
Police officers were also injured in the crash
A man has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a police car which has closed a major Doncaster road junction this morning.
Emergency services were called to Warmsworth following the collision at the junction of High Road, Mill Lane and Edlington Lane.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At 9.11am today (23 October), while responding to a separate incident on blue lights, a police vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision with a black Nissian Qashqai on Edlington Lane, Doncaster.
“The driver of the Nissian has been taken to hospital with a broken leg.

“The officers suffered minor injuries.
“Edlington Lane, at the junction with Mill Lane and Sheffield Road/High Road is currently closed while emergency services conduct their work.
“Please avoid the area and plan alternative routes if possible.”
Videos and photos from the scene showed extensive damage to both vehicles.
