Royal riders tuck into Doncaster McDonald's as Princess attends St Leger
The police outriders dropped in for a bite to eat during a break from Royal duties
Customers at a Doncaster McDonald’s were given a surprise - when members of a Royal protection squad dropped in for a bite to eat.
Police outriders parked up in the Lakeside branch of the fast food giant during Saturday’s St Leger meeting to grab a burger or two - while their Royal visitor was attending the 250th anniversary of the St Leger at nearby Doncaster Racecourse.
It is understood the team had been accompanying HRH The Princess Royal who was in the city to present the trophy to the winner of the Classic horse race, first run at Doncaster in 1776.
Her Royal Highness presented the trophy to Saffie Osborne, who romped to victory on Highwayman, making history by becoming the first ever female winner of a British classic.
