“It is full of insight that you can only gain through years of experience and time.”

The book also reflects on Nadia’s personal story - she shares stories of hardship and struggle.

She said: “ I left school at just 15, pregnant with my first child, and over the years I've faced many challenges, including heartbreak, grief, personal trauma, loss and serious illness.

“One of the most significant periods of my life came while I was studying for my teaching qualifications.

“When I was just seven weeks pregnant, my then partner suffered a devastating brain injury as a result of boxing.”

Just seven weeks later, at 14 weeks pregnant, she graduated with my teaching qualification.

“What should have been one of the happiest and proudest moments of my life was overshadowed by an incredibly difficult and emotional time,” she continued.

“But despite everything happening around me, I continued with my studies and achieved something I'd worked so hard for.

“Looking back, that period of my life taught me so much about resilience, determination and finding the strength to carry on, even when life takes a completely unexpected turn.

“Despite everything life has thrown my way, I've gone on to build a career spanning almost 30 years in the beauty industry, including 16 years teaching.”

Nadia also battled breast cancer at age 39 and had a mastectomy.

Now Nadia wants to give back and hopes to inspire the next generation of teachers.

The book is suitable for any newly qualified teacher, not just those in the beauty industry.
