A service of Remembrance began at 10.30am, with serving members of the Armed Forces community, veterans and cadets assembling in formation inside the park before marching through the gates to the war memorial.

This year’s service has been extended and will be followed later this morning by a parade to the Mansion House.

Terraced seating and a large public screen have been installed to create a more comfortable and accessible viewing experience for the public.

A service is also taking place at Doncaster Minster.
