Doncaster college launches new vocational studies programme for SEND students
New site will introduce an expanded curriculum, including Construction Skills, Hair and Beauty and Design and Enterprise, creating more opportunities for young people with SEND.
Landmarks Specialist College is bringing its specialist post-16 education provision to Doncaster, with an exciting new site opening in January 2027 and a wider range of vocational opportunities planned for young people aged 16–25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The expansion marks a significant milestone for the college, which is extending its reach into Doncaster to give more young adults access to personalised education, specialist support and practical learning opportunities that can help shape their futures.
Based on Chappell Drive, the new site will introduce a range of vocational subjects and creative learning opportunities, including some exciting new additions to Landmarks curriculum.
Among the planned subjects are Construction Skills, Hair and Beauty Skills, and Design and Enterprise, opening up new opportunities for learners to discover their interests, develop practical abilities and explore potential career paths.

Alongside these new vocational areas, the Doncaster site is also planning to offer Digital and Creative Media, Gaming and E-Sports, Creative Art, Digital Skills, English and Maths, Employability and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The breadth of the planned curriculum reflects Landmarks commitment to recognising that every young person has different strengths, interests and ambitions.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, learning will be shaped around individual needs, interests and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.
Learners will access three established Landmarks Pathways: Adult Life an Independence, Vocational and Employability. These provide personalised routes to developing everyday living skills, gaining practical experience, working towards recognised qualifications and preparing for future opportunities.
For some learners, this may mean progressing towards further training, a Supported Internship, an apprenticeship or paid employment. For others, the focus may be on building confidence, developing everyday skills and becoming more independent.
Larry Brocklesby, Principal and CEO of Landmarks Specialist College, said: “We are really excited to bring Landmarks to Doncaster and create more opportunities for young people with SEND closer to home.
“Our aim is to provide ambitious, practical learning that reflects each learner’s strengths and aspirations, whether their next step is employment, further training or greater independence. We also want the new site to become part of the Doncaster community and work closely with local employers and partners.”
