£10,000 raised following death of much-loved Doncaster dad and Leeds United fan

More than £10,000 has been raised for the grieving family of a much-loved Doncaster dad following his shock death.

Jim English, who was known as Ingo, was a familiar face around Doncaster, with his employers Togel Contractors announcing the news of his passing earlier this week while The Hallcross pub, where he was a regular, held an event to mark his passing.

A fundraising page, which you can contribute to here - https://shorturl.at/s0gWy has seen thousands of pounds roll in in a matter of days.

Funding campaign organiser Gary Smith said: “It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of James English, husband to Sarah, dad to Tayla and Lucas, grandad to Nancy, and a friend to so many.

“James was a big, daft, kind, funny man who left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.

“He was the life and soul of any party, opinionated, warm, and impossible to forget.

“If James loved you, he loved you properly, fiercely, loyally, and with his whole heart.

“Family and friends were everything to him.

“A proud Leeds United fan and a man who loved his city of Doncaster, James was rooted in the people and places that made him who he was.

“He filled rooms, told it how he saw it, and made ordinary days feel bigger just by being in them.

“We are raising funds to support Sarah and the family at this unimaginable time, towards funeral costs and to give them a little space to grieve, remember, and look after one another.

“If you knew James, you already know what he meant. If you can donate, share this page, or simply send love to Sarah, Tayla, Lucas and Nancy, it will mean the world.

“Rest easy, James. You were one of a kind.”

At the weekend, The Hallcross held an event to remember him.

Last week, a pub spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of James English, a much-loved friend and regular at The Hallcross.

“To some he was part of the family, to all of us he was part of the furniture.

“He will be missed by staff and customers alike.

“Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who knew him.”
