Fun sports events for children put on in Doncaster to raise money for charity
Children have the chance to win tickets to an MMA fight this Winter if they help to raise money for a Doncaster charity by taking part in sports events.
Megan Booker, a member partner from Co-op, said: “Every year the Co-op picks a charity to support and this year it is Mind.

“Our theme is ‘Get Moving More’ which is why we have chosen fundraisers with physical activities.”
The martial arts event will take place on Friday, August 28 at 2pm.
It will be held at the Doncaster Martial Arts Centre.
The football event will be held the day after, Saturday, August 29 also at 2pm.

It will take place on Town Fields.
“The events both cost £3 each to attend but we are also encouraging kids to get sponsored by family and friends,” she said.
“The child who raises the most money will win a great prize.”
The prize is one adult and one child ticket to an MMA fight hosted by Caged Steel.
Megan said: “We think it’s important to raise money for Mind because lockdown has had a mental and physical impact on everybody.”
Children need to be aged between seven to nine years old to take part and need to book in advance to join in due to Covid-19 restrictions.
