'Loveable and goofy' dog still searching for home after two years with RSPCA
Can you find a space in your heart for this loveable but lonely boy?
An appeal has been launched to find a lonely but loveable dog called Rocky his forever home after being in the care of RSPCA Doncaster and Rotherham branch for more than two years.
The appeal for homes comes as new data unveiled during the RSPCA’s Adoptober homing drive has revealed that frontline officers are dealing with an average 410 ‘multi-animal’ incidents - involving 10 or more every single month - an increase on 2025 which was a record breaking year.
The charity is urging people to ‘adopt not shop’ as it reaches a capacity crisis and among some of the dogs in need of a home at the Bawtry based branch is Rocky as well as Kiki and Bruce.
Rocky is a loveable yet goofy five-year-old crossbreed dog and he was rescued along with another dog who was adopted quickly after - while Rocky still patiently awaits his forever home.

Georgia Billam, Rehoming Leader at the branch, said: “Rocky is the goofiest, silliest boy. We all absolutely adore him and he makes us all laugh.
“Unfortunately, Rocky's life prior to being here at the centre was one in which he didn't get to enjoy many of the things that make life so exciting, and he has missed out on a lot of important socialisation because of this.

“He has, however, proven to be the biggest optimist, and really has embraced every new change here at the centre with open arms, even if he has found a few things a little scary.
“Rocky, very typically of bigger dogs, is a large lad who sometimes doesn't know his own strength and size, and doesn't always have the best etiquette when it comes to meeting people and dogs - but with the right socialisation we are sure he can overcome this.”
Rocky loves human company but could live with another dog and would be better suited to live with children aged 12 and over.
Kiki came into the care of the branch in an emaciated condition as part of a cruelty case. She needed lots of love (and food!) to help her get back to full health but has come on leaps and bounds in RSPCA care.

Georgia said: ”Kiki is an absolute sweetheart bursting with love, energy, and personality.
“Although she’s been through quite a lot in her life, Kiki has held onto her positivity every step of the way. Her resilience and joyful spirit have made her a firm favourite among staff and volunteers alike.
“Kiki is happiest when she has your full attention. She thrives on one-on-one time and will gladly soak up all the fuss and affection you’re willing to give. Whether it’s playtime, cuddle time, or simply being by your side, she just loves being involved and also loves her toys!”
Kiki is a six year-old crossbreed who would prefer to be the only pet in the home and she could live with children aged 14 and upwards.
Meanwhile Bruce is a one year-old lurcher who is looking for an adult-only home where he can focus on his training.

Georgia said: “Bruce (pictured right) is a lively lad looking for a fresh start. He's a clever, energetic boy with a lot of love and cheeky antics to give to the right family.
“Bruce is a young boy who still has a lot to learn about the world around him and needs a family who can dedicate time to his training and can help him become the well-mannered gent we know that he's more than capable of being. One of Bruce's favourite pastimes is lounging over your lap - he doesn't always understand personal space (or his size, for that matter)!”
Georgia added: “If you think you could offer Rocky, Kiki or Bruce a home or one of the other lovely animals in our care, please get in touch with us and a member of the team will help you find your perfect match.
“Rescuing a pet is such a rewarding experience, and they’re sure to bring such love and fun to your home.”
