Guests will be able to enjoy storytelling, dance, drama, music, arts and crafts, theatre tours and a fancy-dress parade.

Activities will take place throughout the day, with BSL-interpreted sessions available.

From bringing favourite Halloween tales to life in early years storytelling workshops to learning dance moves, trying drumming and singing along to spooky show tunes, there’s something for everyone.

Children can also make their own creepy creations at the Halloween arts and crafts table, take part in a scavenger hunt, have their faces painted and explore behind the scenes on a theatre tour.

James Blakey, Director at Cast said,: “We want Cast to be a place where families feel welcome, whatever their age or interests.”

“Our free open day is a chance to explore the theatre, try something new and enjoy spending time together, with lots of fun activities for children and grown-ups to get involved in. We’re looking forward to welcoming families through our doors for a day of spooky stories, creativity and Halloween fun.”

The day will feature activities across all of Cast’s spaces, with sessions for different ages and interests. Little ones and their grown-ups can enjoy a Hello Baby taster session, while older children can get involved in drama games, ghost-story writing and Halloween-themed movement workshops.

Selected sessions will feature a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter. These include:

11.50am-12.20pm: Room on the Broom workshop (Dance Space)

12.45-1.30pm: Spooky Tales and Grisly Ghouls (Drama Space)

2.30-3pm: Drama Games/Parachute (Dance Space)

1.45-2.15pm: The Ghouls Parade

One of the day’s highlights will be the Ghouls Parade, where witches, ghosts, monsters and other Halloween characters can show off their most creative costumes. The parade will travel around Cast before heading onto the stage, with prizes for the most creative costume and scariest character.

The free open day runs from 11am to 3.30pm on Saturday 31 October, with drop-in activities taking place throughout the building. Families can also enjoy a children’s menu offer in the foyer café, making it easy to turn a visit into a full day out.
