Here, we look at what happened next for every player that made an appearance in that memorable season. Part two will follow soon.
9. Lee Fowler
12/13 appearances: 4. Dean Saunders' final signing did not get chance to play under his fellow Welshman before his departure to Wolves. And it was a pretty disastrous spell, seeing him farmed out on loan to Forest Green and Burton before being released five months after joining Rovers. He moved to Kidderminster before spells in the Welsh Premier and linked back up with Saunders on loan at Crawley. He has moved into management and is currently in charge of Radcliffe Borough. 10. Dean Furman
12/13 appearances: 8. The South African saw his loan from Oldham Athletic made permanent following promotion to the Championship. He stayed with Rovers for two more seasons, making more than 80 appearances in total. The midfielder then rejected a new contract offer, understood to be keen on joining a Championship club, but returned to his homeland with SuperSport United, whom he still plays for today. 11. Andy Griffin
12/13 appearances: 18. The veteran signed a one-month rolling contract with Rovers in October 2012, making sporadic appearances over the remainder of the campaign. But he was released at the end of the season, before joining non-league Chester ahead of his retirement. Photo: Lynne Cameron
12. James Harper
12/13 appearances: 29.
The midfielder joined Rovers in August 2012 and featured regularly through the promotion-winning campaign. He found appearances hard to come by the following season and departed by mutual consent in January 2014. He finished that campaign with Barnet before moving into non-league, playing for Uxbridge this season. Photo: PA Wire
