Dan Gardner has just gone really close for Rovers.

A wonderful hooked ball to the left flank from John Bostock released Gardner down the left. He cut inside and unleashed a powerful drive that flew past the far post.

14. Better from Rovers

Wellens’ side have just enjoyed a decent spell of possession where they’ve really slowed the game down, playing the ball between defence and midfield and waited for an opportunity to push forward. They need more of this.

Rovers look to be feeling the pressure in these early stages. Challenges are rushed, clearances are a little panicky and they are desperate to slow things down. The defending in the box has been good when balls have come in but outside it all looks a little nervy and it’s encouraging both Wednesday and their supporters.

A decent attack from Rovers leads to their first real moment of threat. Tommy Rowe robbed the ball away superbly in the Wednesday half and squared inside for Ben Close, who shot, only to see it blocked and ricochet around before being hacked clear.

5. First question asked of Dahlberg

A Wednesday corner is delivered in by Lewis Wing. The ball was tossed around the area before being stabbed on goal by Andre Green only for Pontus Dahlberg to get behind it.

And the big news is that Tommy Rowe does play.

He’s not trained all week due to an Achilles issue but he’s been passed fit to play.

In total it is two changes from the side that started against AFC Wimbledon last weekend, including a debut for Ethan Galbraith.

Also coming in is John Bostock while Covid victim Matt Smith and self-isolation casualty Charlie Seaman both miss out.

Richie Wellens has only been able to name six subs again, as he did in midweek at Walsall.
