Kieran Sadlier will miss Doncaster Rovers’ trip to Sunderland with a broken nose and concussion, Darren Moore has revealed.

Sadlier clashed with Coventry City’s Kyle McFadzean last weekend, damaging his nose and being forced off at half time of the 1-0 defeat.

And boss Moore revealed the 25-year-old will be absent from the trip to the Stadium of Light on Friday night due to following the Football Association’s concussion protocol.

“He broke his nose in the incident and with the incident he had a bit of concussion so Sads is unavailable for the game,” Moore said.

“He’s following the concussion protocol so he won’t be involved.”On options to replace Sadlier in the side, Moore says he will check on the status of his squad before making the decision.

Rakish Bingham replaced Sadlier off the bench at the weekend while Matty Blair is pushing for a return to the side after his return to fitness.

It seems most likely that Madger Gomes will come into the side, having fulfilled the role on numerous occasions this season.

“We’ll look at the squad over the next 24 hours and see how they shape up,” Moore said.

“We’ll look at those who can possibily come in and fill the role within the team.”

Moore reported no other injury concerns ahead of the trip to Sunderland.
