Back to the 80s at Nottingham races
Nottingham racecourse is taking spectators ‘back to the 1980s’ on Saturday evening (July 6) when Colwick Park combines horse racing with musical entertainment.
Singer-songwriter Debbie Nunn is the tribute act who will wind the clock back to the hits of an iconic era in music.
So popular is the Saturday race night that all punter-packages have already been snapped.
However, as well as general admission which can be purchased online, by telephone or at the racecourse on the night, other special offers are still available, including ‘Fizz For 4’, which gives four people Premier Enclosure admission, two racecards and a bottle of sparkling rose wine, all for just £100.
Pip Kirkby, the racecourse’s general manager, said: “”We’re laying on a wonderful evening of sporting and musical entertainment for visitors on Saturday.
““There’s nothing better than relaxing at Nottingham Racecourse, with the chance to mix with friends over refreshments and a little flutter on the horses. The evening will round off in the company of singer Debbie Nunn who will be taking us all ‘back to the 80s.”
Debbie Nunn, who wrote her first song at the age of ten, now has a catalogue of her own music.
She has travelled worldwide and performed in Las Vegas, Russia, Singapore and at the famous Blue Bird Café in Nashville.
Nine years ago, she worked with Spencer Jaye and they completed their first album, ‘‘Always In My Heart’,’ which received three nominations for the UK Country Radio Awards. Debbie Nunn’s latest album is ‘Here For You’’.
The racecourse will be open from 4.15 pm, with the first race at 6.15 pm and the finale at 9.15 pm.
Grandstand admission is £15, while the Premier Enclosure is £25. Accompanied children aged under 18 are always admitted free of charge. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 0844 579 3011 or booked online at www.nottinghamracecourse.co.uk.
As well as the ‘Fizz For 4’ package, visitors can book the Champagne And Seafood package for £30, including a glass of sparkling rose wine, prawn cocktail, strawberries and cream, plus a racecard and Premier admission.
There will be a big 25ft by 25ft video screen to make viewing more enjoyable.
