Delays of over an hour after police close M18 near Doncaster over 'concerns for safety'

A major South Yorkshire motorway is closed this evening with queues of over an hour in both directions.
The M18 outside of Doncaster is shut between J2 and J3, as well as nearby Tickhill Road and Bubup Hill.
South Yorkshire Police says it is at the scene after responding to a 999 call concerned for a person’s safety.
As a result, tailbacks are reaching for miles along the M18 in both directions, with delays also building on the Doncaster Bypass.
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue confirmed it has also has two fire engines at the scene.
