Thousands run Doncaster Sheffield Airport runway for spooky Halloween race

Runners of all ages took part in a special super spooky Halloween run at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The 3km long runway at Doncaster Sheffield Airport played host to a unique experience for 2,500 lucky individuals on Saturday as they donned running shoes - and in some cases fancy dress - for a fun-run with a difference.

As the airport undergoes regulatory checks for its reopening next year, bosses have opened up the runway for a range of community initiatives, including a series of fun-runs.

The ‘Run A Way’ event coincided with Halloween and saw runners tackle the runway in the dark.
