Announcing the news to customers, a spokesperson said: “We’re absolutely delighted to announce we have officially acquired The Masons Arms and Rum Rooms!

“This is a deal that’s been a long time in the making, and we genuinely cannot wait to get stuck in, breathe new life into these much loved establishments and take them into their next chapter.

“You’ve spoken, and we’ve listened.

“We know how much you love the character and charm of The Masons, not to mention its fantastic real ale offering.

“And rest assured, we have no intention of changing what makes this pub so special.

“It’s no secret that we’re known for our renovations, proof is in the pudding.

“But on this occasion, our vision is simple: preserve the history, retain the character and bring this wonderful, long-established pub back to its former glory.

“And don’t worry, the ales aren’t going anywhere.

“So, what’s changing?

The Masons Arms will be receiving a little TLC and a much-needed facelift. Think freshened-up surroundings, a bit of a spruce and a return to its former glory, all while keeping the character you’ve come to know and love.

“As for the courtyard and Rum Rooms… well, that’s where things get really exciting.

“Plans are already taking shape, with work set to begin in January. We have something incredibly special and unique in mind, something we hope will bring a whole new experience to the City of Doncaster.

“And that’s not all.

“We have some seriously exciting collaborations in the pipeline, too, which we’ll be revealing in due course. Let’s just say there’s plenty to look forward to.

We want to take a second to thank all our loyal customers who have supported us over the years, without you simply none of this would be possible.

“Here’s to new beginnings, exciting projects and making our city a better place, one step at a time.”

In August, Chris Barker and Jackie Bailey, who had the run the bars for more than two decades, bowed out with a farewell party.

Describing it as “the end of an incredible chapter,” a spokesperson said: “After many unforgettable years, its time to say goodbye.

“It’s a sad time, but let’s make it a celebration to remember.

“Thank you all for all your support over the years, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
