With artists from Madonna to David Bowie and The Stone Roses, the music from the decade is what respondents say made the 80s so iconic.

The 80s was a prime decade for producing some of our most loved one-hit wonders, and the study revealed that the three top floor fillers from the time were Come On Eileen from 1983, The Proclaimers' 500 Miles from 1988 and The Weather Girls '“ It's Raining Men from 1982.

Other notable songs from the era include Saturday Night by Whigfield from 1995, and Mambo No.5 by Lou Bega from 1999.
