Doncaster road closures: nine for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Doncaster's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M18, from 9pm December 9 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.
• A1, from 8pm August 11 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 38 and A638 eastbound and westbound, Redhouse, carriageway and lane closures for electrical works, diversion route in place via Local authority network.
• M62, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 33 to junction 34, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance works.
• M18, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 6am March 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 6 to junction 7, Lane closure for structure maintenance.
And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M18, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound and southbound, junction 5 to junction 6, Lane closure for technology works.
• A1, from 7.30pm December 15 to 3pm December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 28 - M18 southbound, junction 2 - A1M southbound, abnormal load movement on behalf of Leicester Heavy Haulage.
• M18, from 9pm December 15 to 5am December 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, slip road closures Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance, diversion M18 M62 A614.
• M180, from 8pm December 18 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M180 eastbound, junction 2, slip road closure for barrier repair, diversion A161 M180.
• M18, from 9pm December 18 to 5am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closure for barrier repair works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
