The Doncaster MP has praised the works taking place
A Doncaster MP has given his seal of approval to works aimed at improving a town in his constituency.
Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband has welcomed the works taking place in Mexborough.
He said: “I joined Doncaster Council officers and Helen from the Fox Gallery for a walk along Mexborough High Street to see how the works are coming on.
“If you’ve caught my video with Peachzz, the artist behind Mexborough’s fantastic murals, you’ll have seen some of it already.
“It’s really starting to take shape.

“The Levelling Up Funding is delivering improved paving and lighting, more green and social space, and the new public art (funded through the creative pathway programme) that celebrates the town’s heritage.
“Greens Way is also progressing, with adaptions including new crossings, a safer cycle and walking route from the station, which will help create better access into the town centre.
“I met residents having their lunch who told me their positive thoughts on the changes happening, and local businesses spoke warmly about what it will mean for the town centre.
“Mexborough has waited a long time for this investment, and I’ll keep backing it every step of the way.”
