Montreux Comedy nominee coming to Cast Comedy Club this May

The 12-year-old monthly comedy club at Cast, Doncaster is back on Friday May 22 with another mix of wonderful stand-up talent.

Headlining the show is Noel James who ‘stands out like a droll giant in a comedy land of trite dwarfs’, according to The Independent.

Noel is a master of surreal wordplay and unhinged hilarity with TV credits that include Britain’s Got Talent, The Stand Up Show, Frank Skinner’s Packing Them In, Comedy Central Live and the Golden Rose of Montreux nominated Giamocs.

The magnificent Anna Thomas opens the show, a comedian who has ‘the appealing air of not quite being of this world, but whatever planet she’s from, they know funny’ (Chortle).

She’s a former winner of the illustrious BBC New Comedian Of The Year and was nominated for Channel 4’s Sean Lock Award. She has also provided tour support for the likes of Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Joe Lycett, Lauren Pattison and Scott Bennett with her endearingly dotty demeanour.

Also appearing are the one liner wizard Fil Milton and the Scottish storytelling genius that is Billy Maguire, with Anthony J Brown compering. The show starts at 7.45pm.

Tickets are £15.50 and are available via the box office on 01302 303 959 and online at castindoncaster.com.
