The incident happened in the southbound direction between Junction 33 for Catcliffe and Junction 32 for Thurcroft at around 12.50pm.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said no injuries have been reported and the road is now reopened following a collision between a lorry and a Peugeot MPV.
All three lanes of the motorway were closed while the lorry was recovered, with the road fully reopened at 1.40pm.
