Leger 250: Councillor concerns over traffic gridlock and public urination
He says residents have reported gridlock and men peeing in the streets
A Doncaster councillor is investigating after complaints from residents about traffic gridlock and people peeing in the streets during this year’s St Leger Festival.
The four day meeting is under way at Doncaster Racecourse - with huge crowds expected over the course of this year’s festival, which is marking the 250th anniversary of the race.

Coun Rob Dennis, Labour councillor for City of Doncaster Council’s Town Ward said: “I have raised residents concerns regarding Alderson Drive and Manor Drive being gridlocked yesterday evening to the Council's Highways officers.
“Higher than normal traffic is to be expected, however residents should not be subjected to gridlocked roads and not being able to access their properties.
“This issue may be worsened by people looking to shortcut the temporary lights which are placed at the Racecourse Car Park exit to aid people leaving the car park.
“I am awaiting a response from Highways officers.
“Residents also raised a significant number of men publicly urinating around Bennetthorpe.
“I have logged this with the police to try and bring further police presence.
“They have advised that if public urinating is happening, you can call 999 and provide location and description of person as it is indecent exposure.”
