Doncaster's most in-demand schools revealed in new figures
The new figues show which of the city’s schools are over-subscribed
New figures have revealed Doncaster most in-demand schools - as parents scramble for places for their children.
New Department for Education admissions figures for 2026-27 entry throw up a clear standout in Doncaster.
- XP School was the most in-demand with 125 first-choice applications for 50 places - or 2.5 per place.
- Behind it, on the same measure: Hall Cross Academy (1.4) and Hungerhill School (1.3).
- Five of Doncaster's 19 state secondaries received more first choices than places; 14 received fewer.
- In the primaries, Canon Popham CofE Primary Academy led: 47 first choices for 30 reception places (1.6 per place).
The figures, prepared by SchoolFacts are available to view in full at schoolfacts.uk
Following Canon Popham in the list of most in-demand primaries were St Joseph and St Teresa's Catholic Primary School (1.5 per place), Holy Family Catholic Primary School (1.3 per place), Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School (1.2 per place).
Laurens Bruynseels, founder of SchoolFacts.uk said: "XP School received 125 first-choice applications for 50 places this year.
“Because most oversubscribed schools admit on distance, where a family lives largely decides which schools are realistic for them.
“We make this data free to search for every state school in England so parents can see it before they apply."
