A Doncaster policeman has been remembered 52 years on from his death in a road crash while on duty.
PC Harold Grainger died on October 26, 1974.

The 35-year-old was escorting a prisoner when he was involved in a fatal road collision.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We remember PC Grainger who died in the line of duty 52 years ago.
“He was involved in a fatal collision while escorting a prisoner.
“The 35-year-old had been a serving officer for just under 12 years and was working in the Doncaster A1 sub-division at the time of his death.
“On this moving day, our thoughts are with PC Grainger's family, friends, colleagues and everybody who had the joy of knowing him.
“We thank him for his dedication to keeping the communities of South Yorkshire safe.”
In 2021, Mr Grainger’s widow Maureeen attended the unveiling of the UK Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
The memorial is a physical tribute and permanent place of remembrance for police officers and staff who have died serving UK policing.
