Jaan G Saqlain, managing director of Absolute Cabs has achieved the “Farzand e Pakistan” (Son of Pakistan) award which will be presented in London this weekend.

He is honouring the award to Julie Kay, who recently died after a battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

He said: “Julie and myself worked very hard and we did the opening of Absolute Cabs office in Doncaster in 2013. This award is for her.”

The 57-year-old mum of two passed away earlier this year following a battle with MND.

She was a devoted mum to Laura and Ryan as well as a loving grandmother.

Julie first noticed symptoms while visiting Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, in 2024, when she began to lose her voice.

Over the following two years, her condition increasingly affected her ability to communicate, eat and drink and eventually left her requiring round-the-clock care.

The firm, based in East Laith Gate, started with five cars and now has more than 200 vehicles.

The award honours Pakistanis living overseas.
