Doncaster Recovery festival celebrates people overcoming addiction

It was the organisation’s first festival

A special festival to celebrate people overcoming addiction has been held in Doncaster.

Aspire staged its first ever Recovery Life Fest, bringing people together to celebrate recovery, raise awareness and showcase the vital work being carried out by the organisation and its partner agencies.

The event provided an opportunity for people in recovery, their families, professionals and members of the wider community to come together, connect with support services and celebrate the positive journeys taking place every day.

Elly Sanchez, Events Coordinator for Aspire, said: “The aim of the day was to celebrate recovery, showcase the work that Aspire and our partner agencies do in Doncaster and to reduce stigma.

“The first Recovery Life Fest was a positive and inspiring day, highlighting that recovery is possible and that people affected by drug and alcohol use are supported by a wide network of services and communities.”

Aspire hopes the event will become an annual celebration of recovery and continue to bring people together to challenge stigma and recognise the achievements of those on their recovery journeys.
