The venue has been taken over by a cafe firm
A popular Doncaster pub is is new hands - and is set to re-open with an additional coffee shop.
The Classic Cafe, which already has premises at Yorkshire Caravans near Bawtry, has taken over The Mayflower in Austerfield.
A spokesperson said: “We are very, very excited to reveal that we are taking over the reigns at The Mayflower.
“We hope that with our new offering and our great team, we can be somewhere the local community can continue to use and enjoy.
“The super Harper Inns Group completed their last full day yesterday (Monday) and we are now in the process of getting it ready to reopen.
“We will be carrying out some exciting changes including creating a fantastic new Coffee Shop at the rear of the premises to be open seven days a week, complementing our existing venue at the great Yorkshire Caravans.
“When we open don’t forget to come and check out our scrumptious Yorkshire Deli counter.
“The bar is having a refresh too and hopefully we will be ready to be open in just over a week or so’s time.
“We will be doing our trademark coffee shop menu and fantastic pub menus too including, of course, an amazing Sunday Roast - all at reasonable prices.”
A spokesperson for Harper Inns, which took over the bar in 2025, said: “As our time at The Mayflower comes to an end, we would like to thank every customer who has supported us during our time here.
“We are incredibly grateful for the memories made, the celebrations shared and the support we have received from the local community.
“We would also like to wish the new operators every success as they begin their journey at The Mayflower. We hope you will give them a warm welcome and continue to support the pub in its next chapter.
“All existing bookings at The Mayflower will be transferred to the new operators. you have a Harper Inns voucher purchased or issued through The Mayflower, you are still very welcome to use it at any of our other venues.
“We have a fantastic collection of pubs across the local area and beyond, including the King William at Scaftworth, The Olive at Barnby Dun, the Pilgrim Fathers at Scrooby and many more.
“Thank you once again for being part of our journey at The Mayflower.”
