The cute and compact van is a familiar sight on city streets

A Doncaster husband and wife's food truck business is competing to be named Europe’s best.

Steakaway is the braincild of James and Emerald Hyde from Kirk Sandall, who serve up freshly cooked steak meals from the back of a vintage 1979 Renault Estafette food truck, which they have affectionately named Pingu.

The pair recently took part in the British Street Food Awards and the vehicle has been short listed for best looking food truck in Europe.

The winner is decided by an online vote and you can have your say at - https://shorturl.at/HkGCk

The winner will be announced at the final of the British Street Food Awards at The Peddler Market in Sheffield from September 4-6

The pair started trading with Steakaway a year ago after going through The King's Trust.

Anyone who has not sampled Steakaway before can choose from delicious dishes at great value including steak and chips for just £12, a steak sandwich for £10, an halloumi burger at £8, and plenty of sides and sauces.
