Doncaster beauty salon in the pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The salon will be getting colourful for the fundraiser
A Doncaster beauty salon will certainly be in the pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Beauty Bar in Carcroft is turning pink throughout October to raise awareness and money for breast cancer support.
The salon is going all out as the team transforms the premises pink in support of this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, the salon will be running a number of pink-themed fundraising activities, giving clients the opportunity to enjoy their favourite beauty treatments while helping to raise money for a cause that affects so many people and families.
As part of the campaign, £1 will be donated for every pink set of nails or pink set of toes, while £2 will be donated for every set of pink lashes.
The salon will also be running a pink-themed hamper raffle packed full of goodies, as well as a raffle to win a beautiful handmade pink bear.
Chrissy from The Beauty Bar said: “Breast cancer affects so many women and families, and for us this campaign means much more than simply raising money.
“We have customers who have bravely battled breast cancer and come through the other side, as well as customers who are currently going through their own breast cancer journey.
“Because of this, the cause is particularly close to our hearts at The Beauty Bar.
“We wanted to do something together as a team that would make a difference, but for us it’s not just about how much money we can raise. It’s about raising awareness, encouraging women to know their own breasts, to check them regularly and, importantly, to speak to their GP if they notice anything that isn’t normal for them.
“As a beauty salon, we see and speak to women every day, so we feel we have a wonderful opportunity to use our platform to spread an important message.
“We want our pink campaign to encourage women to take a few minutes for themselves and check their breasts. Early detection can make such a difference, and if our campaign encourages even one woman to get something checked that she might otherwise have ignored, then it will have been worthwhile.
“We’re a small independent salon, but we have such a wonderful community of clients behind us. We wanted to bring everyone together, turn the salon pink, have some fun with our fundraising and, most importantly, show our support to everyone who has been affected by breast cancer.”
