The new Kia dealership will serve business and fleet customers across Doncaster and South Yorkshire, as well as retail customers interested in Kia’s new range of purpose-built electric vehicles, with full aftersales support.

JCT600 Approved Doncaster will also serve as a base for selling a range of used commercial vehicles as part of expansion at the site.

Kia PBV, which stands for ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’, is the South Korean automotive brand’s new approach to electric vehicles, combining purpose-built vehicles with multiple configurations designed to suit a range of needs, from business transport and deliveries to passenger travel.

Its first model, the Kia PV5, is available in several versions, including the PV5 Cargo for freight and the PV5 Passenger for carrying people.

The latter is also available through the Motability scheme.

The new dealership is JCT600’s second light commercial vehicle franchise, alongside Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, for which it operates five Van Centres across its network.

It follows Kia’s selection of partners for the next phase of its UK commercial vehicle rollout.

The move enables JCT600 to expand its presence in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market, widening choice for local businesses looking to transition to electric vans, while also giving individuals access to Kia’s new electric passenger vehicles.

Craig Saunders, JCT600’s Kia PBV brand director, said: “Being selected by Kia for its PBV network is a significant opportunity for JCT600 and reflects the strength of our relationships with manufacturer partners and our experience in serving customers.

“Kia has ambitious plans for its new range, and its electric vehicles offer a flexible proposition for a variety of uses, from commercial transport to passenger travel.

“The new dealership enables us to bring that choice to customers across South Yorkshire, backed by the customer service and aftersales expertise they expect from JCT600.

“We’ve continued to invest in our presence in Doncaster, with our Volkswagen and Škoda sites opening in the city in August, and adding Kia PBV to our existing operations is another step in developing the business and the range of vehicles we can offer customers.”

JCT600, which was founded in Bradford in 1946, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The family-owned group represents more than 20 automotive brands across more than 50 locations in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and the North East, employing more than 2,000 people.
