Doncaster bar continues breast cancer fundraising with afternoon tea
The venue is now gearing up for an afternoon tea party
A Doncaster bar is continuing its support for breast cancer awareness after an ongoing pre-loved book fundraiser, with its next event set to bring afternoon tea, live music and plenty of pink to the town.
Hollies Bar @ No9 in Dower House Square, Bawtry, has been getting behind Bawtry’s All In Pink campaign, raising money and awareness for breast cancer charity CoppaFeel.
The venue recently launched a pre-loved book fundraiser, inviting people to donate and purchase books in return for a contribution to the charity.
Originally centred around a dedicated book sale on 23 August, the initiative proved so popular that Hollies continued selling the donated books afterwards, meaning the fundraising total is still growing.
Now the team is preparing for its next All In Pink fundraiser, an Afternoon Tea Party on Wednesday 30 September.
Taking place at Hollies Bar @ No9 from 6pm, the evening will include afternoon tea with a hot drink or glass of fizz, alongside live music, a pink-themed quiz and raffle.
Tickets cost £25 per person, with £10 from every ticket being donated to CoppaFeel.
Charlotte Lister, who helps organise the All In Pink campaign, said: “It’s brilliant to see Hollies getting so involved with All In Pink and finding different ways to keep the fundraising going.
“The book fundraiser was such a lovely idea because it gave people a really simple way to support the campaign, and the fact the books have continued to sell means it hasn’t just been a one-day fundraiser.
“Now we have the Afternoon Tea Party to look forward to, which is another opportunity to bring people together, have some fun and, most importantly, raise money and awareness for CoppaFeel.
“All In Pink is about businesses and the community getting involved in whatever way works for them, and Hollies is a great example of exactly that.”
Hollies Bar @ No9 is also supporting the wider All In Pink campaign as one of its bra collection points, helping collect unwanted bras for reuse and recycling as part of the initiative.
Anyone wanting to attend the Afternoon Tea Party on 30 September should contact Hollies Bar @ No9 directly to purchase tickets.
All In Pink will continue throughout the autumn, bringing businesses and communities together across Bawtry, Tickhill, Epworth and Harworth to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer charities.
