But a spokesperson said the event at Houghton Road Community Centre has had to be postponed due to flooding at the venue.
The event will now take place on Saturday 21 November at the same venue from 1-4pm.
Residents are invited to bring in household objects such as small appliances, lamps, toys, and clocks for repair.
The friendly volunteer ‘Fixers’ will take a look and see if they can help.
Organisers hope that this will reduce the number of items going to landfill, develop the skills of individuals and help build a stronger local economy.
People are welcome to come and find out more and maybe treat themselves to a hot drink and a piece of cake.
For this first session, there will also be stalls from other services to support residents reduce their energy costs and keep warm this winter. The plan going forwards is to run the café on the last Saturday of each month.
