Cameras roll at Doncaster Sheffield Airport for filming of new movie
The airport has been used for filming on a number of occasions
Cameras have been rolling at Doncaster Sheffield Airport as shooting for a new movie takes place.
Details about the production are being kept under wraps but it is the latest in a long line of films and television programmes to be shot at the airport.
Save DSA campaigner Mark Chadwick said: “The airport has been fortunate enough to be selected as the backdrop for a movie, which is great news.
“Most importantly, this will provide a welcome financial boost.
“With the airport generating revenue from the production using the site, its great to see the airport being put to use and generating income in the short term.
“When the film is eventually released, DSA should also benefit from the publicity and exposure that comes with appearing on the big screen.
He added: “I don’t know what the film is, who’s starring in it or when it will be released. But it’s another positive for DSA, bringing in revenue, raising its profile and making good use of the airport while the wider reopening work continues.”
Comedians David Walliams and Matt Lucas filmed spoof airport documentary Come Fly With Me at Doncaster Sheffield Airport before its closure while scenes from Emmerdale and Chris Morris movie Four Lions were also filmed there.
It was also chosen for filming of BBC drama The Syndicate.
