Doncaster named the UK's least iPhone-obsessed city
Doncaster has been placed last in a new UK ranking of online interest in Apple’s iPhone, according to research by TripSIM.
The study compared 48 cities using Google search activity and Reddit mentions, and gave the South Yorkshire city a score of -0.03. Doncaster recorded 787.17 iPhone-related Google searches per 10,000 residents, the lowest figure in the table, alongside 64.68 iPhone mentions per 1,000 Reddit community members, also the lowest.
It finished behind Carlisle in 47th and Bradford in 46th.
Nearby Sheffield came seventh, while Leeds was 12th, York 18th and Wakefield 44th. At the top of the ranking were Newcastle upon Tyne, Manchester and Glasgow.
The findings do not show how many people own iPhones in each city, only the level of online search and discussion around the device.
