Doncaster Mustangs seek new players ahead of 25th Season

Doncaster Mustangs are targeting promotion to mark their milestone 25th season, mounting a recruitment drive to expand their adult squad ahead of the 2027 campaign.
The team, which trains and plays at Wheatley Hills RUFC, competes in Division 2 of the British American Football Association national leagues. Following several years near the bottom of the rankings, the club is optimistic about mounting a challenge for promotion next term. Strong recruitment during the previous campaign, combined with the addition of experienced players and coaches, has strengthened the setup. A major boost has also come via off-season sponsorship from local firm Yates Drainage Specialist, with club figures hoping the backing will help propel them to success.
To maintain their search for new talent, the Mustangs are hosting another Rookie Day at 10am on Sunday 8th November at Wheatley Hills RUFC. The event follows an opening round of try-outs held on a blustery Sunday 24th October, which offered participants who had never previously played American football an opportunity to learn the basics of the game.
No prior experience is necessary to join the session. Prospective players need only supply boots and a gum shield, as the club can provide helmets and shoulder pads on loan to all newcomers.
