LIVE: Rochdale 1 Doncaster Rovers 2

Decent build-up play from the hosts sees the ball cut back to Conor Grant, who lashes a low first time effort which Louis Jones gets behind well.

30mins GGGGOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLL!!! ROVERS!!

TAYLOR RICHARDS!

And Rovers are ahead in this one!

After good, patient play at the back, Rovers stepped it up quickly. Jason Lokilo took possession out wide and worked space for a cross which dropped for Taylor Richards who managed to bring it under control and finish from close range.

They’ve arguably been second best but Rovers lead here.

19min OFF THE POST....AND THE LINE

Rochdale look all set to take the lead when Jimmy Keohane stands up a cross to the back post where Matthew Lund rises unopposed to head on goal. But he strikes the post with his header, sparking an almighty scramble which sees Andy Butler clearing off the line from Jake Beesley’s follow-up.

15min You can tell where the urgency is

As could have been predicted beforehand, given the stakes in the game, Rochdale have started with the greater attacking intent and drive. The hosts have moved the ball quickly and got up the pitch well, working some decent chances and always looking keen to get the shot away. It’s been decent from them so far.

The pace is a little less relentless from Rovers but that is not to say they are being outworked in this one. Rovers too have used the ball well and look dangerous on the counterattack in particular.

Rovers race up the pitch on the counter. The ball is fed in to Jason Lokilo who plays it on to Fejiri Okenabirhie. Just before the shot is taken he is blocked out.

Louis Jones gets down well to keep out a low drive from Jimmy Keohane. Rochdale seemed to take an age to get a shot away but were able to keep possession inside the Rovers box.

Matthew Lund slices wide on the turn fro a corner after Rochdale keep the ball alive from a corner.

Some nice, swift build-up play leads to Jason Lokilo drilling a first time effort narrowly wide from the edge of the box. The ball moved quickly through Lokilo, John-Jules and Okenabirhie before the Belgian winger’s effort.

4min Almost an own goal

Joe Wright was so close to turning into his own net at the back post after good work from Matt Done. He powered to the byline and drilled a ball across goal which Wright met and scuffed narrowly wide.
