Doncaster Rovers’ search for a first league win of the season continues this weekend as they make the trip to the capital to take on AFC Wimbledon.
After falling to a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Plymouth Argyle last weekend, Grant McCann’s men will be keen to produce an improved performance so that they can begin climbing the league table after suffering the misfortune of dropping into the relegation places.
Rovers came out on top in their last meeting with Wimbledon back in January, with Owen Bailey’s 99th minute winner proving to be a catalyst for a real upturn in form for the team, who at the time were languishing in the relegation places.
That particular win was Rovers’ first at Wimbledon in their entire Football League history, but can they repeat the trick this time around?
Here’s our predicted starting lineup for this weekend’s game, with two changes from the team that lost against Plymouth Argyle.
1. GK: Tommy Simkin
Tommy Simkin is expected to keep his spot in the team. He's played in every league match since arriving on loan from Stoke City and appears to be ahead of Josh Clarke in the pecking order at the moment. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]
2. RB: Jamie Sterry
Grant McCann faces a late decision over the fitness of defender Jamie Sterry, who's return could offer a massive boost to the Rovers backline. “If he's right, 100 per cent right, we'll play him. If he's not, we won't," McCann explained. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD [email protected] 07973739229
3. CB: Jay McGrath
Local lad Jay McGrath was rested in midweek against Huddersfield Town in the EFL Trophy but is likely to feature in the backline as he edges closer to a century of appearances for his boyhood club. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]

4. CB: Neill Byrne
Neill Byrne is likely to start ahead of both Sean Grehan and Matty Pearson. The latter made his return from injury in midweek but may still need to manage his minutes.
