Doncaster Rovers’ search for a first league win of the season continues this weekend as they make the trip to the capital to take on AFC Wimbledon.
After falling to a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Plymouth Argyle last weekend, Grant McCann’s men will be keen to produce an improved performance so that they can begin climbing the league table after suffering the misfortune of dropping into the relegation places.
Rovers came out on top in their last meeting with Wimbledon back in January, with Owen Bailey’s 99th minute winner proving to be a catalyst for a real upturn in form for the team, who at the time were languishing in the relegation places.
That particular win was Rovers’ first at Wimbledon in their entire Football League history, but can they repeat the trick this time around?
Here’s our predicted starting lineup for this weekend’s game, with two changes from the team that lost against Plymouth Argyle.
9. CAM: Isaac Hutchinson
Summer signing Isaac Hutchinson has started four of the five league games this season and is expected to keep his place in the team. He's scored twice across all competitions since joining. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]
10. LM: Brandon Hanlan
Brandon Hanlan is likely to keep his place in the lineup despite the impressive performance of Leon Ayinde in the EFL Trophy. He'll be desperate to get off the mark for the new season. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]
11. ST: Alfie May
Alfie May was unable to face his parent club in the EFL Trophy, but should come straight back into the team on Saturday. He scored his first league goal of the season against Plymouth and will be a key figure if Rovers are to start climbing the table. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]
