Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann says his team are finally starting to see ‘some light at the end of the tunnel’ in terms of injury ahead of this Saturday’s blockbuster clash with South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Looking to get back to winning ways after losses to Leicester City and Stockport County, McCann’s replenished group will welcome back a quartet of key players in Jack Senior, Jamie Sterry, Tommi O’Reilly and Jordan Thomas.
It means McCann, who has at times almost had his hands tied in terms of team selection, now has plenty of options at his disposal as he attempts to add to his pretty impressive record in Yorkshire derbies.
With that in mind, here’s our predicted starting lineup for this weekend’s match with three changes from the team that were comfortably beaten by Stockport on Tuesday evening.
5. Jack Senior
The left-back also returns to the squad. He enjoyed an excellent start to the season prior to injury and could be a huge boost in the weeks to come. He'll also need to have his minutes managed carefully though. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]

6. CM: Robbie Gotts
Robbie Gotts has been a key figure in the engine room this season. He's likely to keep his place in midfield.
7. George Broadbent
George Broadbent has been used frequently throughout Grant McCann's time at the club. He's likely to feature in the middle of the park alongside Gotts. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD [email protected] 07973739229
8. Owen Bailey
Owen Bailey is likely to be more the more advanced of Doncaster Rovers' midfield three. He's started every league game since Grant McCann took charge. | Howard Roe AHPIX LTD 07973739229 [email protected]
