‘Like a pay rise for your household’: Group Price prepares for Doncaster launch

Doncaster’s Group Price set to launch, offering trade-level deals from £1 a week
A new subscription platform aiming to give everyday shoppers access to genuine trade prices is set to launch in Doncaster next month – and there’s even a physical showroom too.
Group Price, founded by local entrepreneur Ben Womack, officially launches on April 1, offering members access to exclusive deals across furniture, homeware, lifestyle services and more, for £1 per week.
Unlocking great deals
The concept is simple but ambitious: bring together the buying power of a group to unlock prices typically reserved for trade buyers and industry insiders.
Womack, who has spent years working in the furniture and wholesale supply chain, says the idea was born from seeing how pricing works behind the scenes.
People see a ‘sale’ price and assume they’re getting a good deal. But often the original price has been inflated in the first place. I wanted to create something that cuts through that and gives people access to real prices.
A different approach to discounts
Unlike traditional discount platforms, Group Price operates on a membership model, charging £52 a year, the equivalent of £1 per week.
In return, members gain access to a range of negotiated offers, many of which, Womack says, are significantly below typical retail pricing.
Examples include furniture pieces such as dining sets, sofas and outdoor collections, where savings can run into hundreds of pounds compared to standard retail prices.
“It’s not about endless deals or noise,” he explains. “If it’s not genuinely a strong offer, it doesn’t go on the platform.”
The aim is to create what Womack describes as a “buying group” for consumers, where the value comes from quality and transparency rather than volume.

From furniture to everyday spending
While the platform launches with a strong focus on furniture and home products, Group Price is designed to expand into everyday spending categories.
That includes partnerships with local businesses such as gyms, cafés, dog groomers and trades, alongside national offers on experiences, travel and services.
The model is also designed to work differently for businesses.
Rather than charging commission on each sale, businesses pay a flat annual fee to join the platform, allowing them to offer stronger discounts without eroding their margins.
“It’s a better deal on both sides,” Womack says. “Businesses aren’t being squeezed, and customers get a genuinely better price.”

A physical space to support the platform
Alongside the digital platform, Group Price is also launching a dedicated showroom in Doncaster, giving members the chance to view selected products in person.
Located at Unit 9, Shaw Lane Industrial Estate on Ogden Road, the space will be open to members on selected days each week.
Womack says the showroom will also act as a content and community hub, bringing together local partners, customers and creators to showcase products in real-life settings.
‘Like a pay rise for your household’
With the cost of living still front of mind for many households, the platform is positioning itself as a practical way to reduce everyday spending.
“People are already spending money on furniture, home improvements, going out, services,” says Womack.
“If you can consistently pay less for those things, it adds up quickly. In many cases, one purchase could cover your membership for the year.”
Group Price launches on April 1, with early interest already building ahead of its debut.
