VIDEO: South Yorkshire mum's direct plea for missing son to come home

The mother of a South Yorkshire man who has been missing for nearly three weeks has made an impassioned plea for her son to return home.

Daniel Higgs, aged 32, was last seen by a relative at his home in Eastwood, Rotherham, on Wednesday, November 23, at 10.30pm Police also issued a CCTV image of him in a fast food takeaway in Rotherham on the same day.

Concerns are mounting because he is in urgent need of medication.

His mum Janice Gadsden and detective inspector Mark Oughton have today urged Daniel to come forward. They also called on anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact police.

Speaking at South Yorkshire Police's headquarters in Carbrook House, Janice said: "It is now over two weeks since one of us last saw Daniel and we are beside ourselves with worry.

“This is not like Daniel at all and I want to repeat the police’s appeal for information from anyone who may know where Daniel is.

“I want to thank everyone who has shared the social media appeals and who have offered my family their support and good wishes. Please keep sharing the appeals so we can bring Daniel home safely.

“If anyone out there has offered Daniel any help, a place to stay or money, please get in touch with police.

“I also want to send a message to Daniel if you’re watching or listening: please come home, or find a way to get in touch with one of us so we know you’re alright. We are so worried about you and just want to know that you are safe and well.”

Daniel is described as being 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a navy hooded jacket, grey coat, jeans and distinctive red Reebok trainers.
