Triple national awards recognition for team at Watson
Leading residential block management firm Watson has received significant industry recognition, with three key team members shortlisted for the 2026 Property Management Awards. The nominations highlight the company's commitment to professional standards and resident-focused service.
Residential block management specialist Watson is celebrating a significant achievement, with three of its team members named finalists in the prestigious 2026 Property Management Awards. The nominations underscore the firm’s long-standing commitment to professional standards, building safety, and resident-first service across the UK.
The annual awards, now in their 17th year, acknowledge excellence within the residential leasehold sector, honouring individuals and organisations making a positive impact on the property industry.
Kath Simpson, Senior Property Manager, has been shortlisted for Regional Property Manager of the Year. Megan Moore, Property Manager, is a finalist for New Property Manager of the Year. Ian Omant, Business Development Director, is nominated for Business Development Manager of the Year.
This recognition comes at a pivotal time for the UK residential sector, which is navigating significant legislative changes. Watson, regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and accredited by The Property Institute (TPI), has a heritage spanning over 200 years, evolving from its Yorkshire roots to become the UK’s first employee-owned property managing agent.
Amy Bishoprick, Managing Director at Watson, commented on the shortlistings, stating: "To have three colleagues shortlisted across such different categories is something we are incredibly proud of. Kath, Megan and Ian each bring distinct strengths to Watson, but what they all share is a genuine commitment to doing the right thing for our clients and residents."
Ms Bishoprick added: "Property management can be demanding, and the work that makes the biggest positive difference isn't always the most visible. These nominations recognise the expertise, hard work, and determination that go into solving complex problems, protecting residents, and building lasting relationships. I am delighted to see their hard work and dedication recognised by the industry, and everyone at Watson wishes them the very best of luck at the awards ceremony."
Kath Simpson’s nomination for Regional Property Manager of the Year acknowledges her 21 years of experience and proactive leadership in building safety and fire compliance across Watson’s North East portfolio. Megan Moore, a finalist for New Property Manager of the Year, is recognised for her rapid professional growth, technical skill in overseeing complex building safety works, and exceptional resident relations, having achieved a Level 3 Distinction with The Property Institute (ATPI) after joining Watson in 2023.
Ian Omant, nominated for Business Development Manager of the Year, has been instrumental in Watson’s strategic expansion into Build to Rent, Later Living, and New-Build sectors, securing approximately 500 new units in target regions over the past year through a focus on responsible growth.
Headquartered in Leeds, Watson manages developments across key cities including York, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sheffield. The awards ceremony, organised by News on the Block, will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at City Central, Honourable Artillery Company, London.
