Storm Austen: Weather forces cancellation of park's Halloween event
Wet and windy weather has forced organisers to pull the plug

The Glowalk, which was due to take place at Sandall Park tonight, has been called off because of wet and windy weather.

A spokesperson for Friends of Sandall Park said: “We’re absolutely gutted to announce that the Glowalk at Sandall Park has been cancelled due to the weather conditions.
“We’ve held off making this decision for as long as possible, desperately hoping the weather would change and we could go ahead.
“Unfortunately, the forecast hasn’t improved enough for us to safely run the event.

“We know how much everyone was looking forward to Glowalk, and we’re just as disappointed as you are.
“So much hard work has gone into planning this event by our volunteers, stallholders and entertainers.
“However, the safety of everyone must come first.
“We’re truly sorry to everyone who was planning to join us and thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
