Pontefract League: Rossington Main top Division Two

Rossington Main continue to lead the way in Division Two following a three wicket win at Rothwell.

Scott Wood excelled with the ball, taking 5-60, as Rothwell posted 200 all out. Chris Smith also claimed 3-58.

Matthew Haywood came in at number three and contributed 33 to the run chase.

But Rossington had to rely on their lower order, with Joel Evans (28no) and Dinuka Madapatha (38no) seeing them home for the loss of seven wickets.

Barnby Dun lost a high scoring clash at home to Stainborough.

Kieren Dinnage hit a superb 103 for the hosts as they totalled 236-8 from their allotted overs.

But Dinnage was upstaged by Stainborough’s Andy Beck who carried his bat for 140, hitting 13 sixes in the process, to lead the visitors to a five wicket win.

In Division One Askern Welfare were halted by the rain on 147-7 against Brook-Walton, chasing 194.
