YMCA Doncaster has launched a heartwarming, festive campaign to raise £2,025 – helping the charity continue its vital work providing housing and community support for young people across the city.

The £2,025 appeal aims to ensure YMCA Doncaster remains a safe and supportive space for children and young people to build their confidence, independence, and brighter futures.

Funds raised from the campaign will go directly towards their housing and community programmes, including supported accommodation for 30 young people aged 18-30 who have experienced some form of homelessness; and free, creative activities for children aged 5-16, giving them a space to have fun and feel part of their community.

Local families, schools, and businesses are invited to take part in the campaign and help reach the target of £2,025 by Christmas.

Alongside the fundraising appeal, YMCA Doncaster is also bringing back its much-loved Reverse Advent Calendar, inviting supporters to donate daily gifts for the 30 young residents living in the charity’s accommodation.

Each day in December, participants are encouraged to add a small item, such as toiletries, non-perishable food, or treats, to a box, which can then be dropped off at the YMCA on Wood Street by Christmas Eve.

Chief Executive, Louise Roffey, said: “This Christmas, we’re asking our community to come together and make a real difference for young people in Doncaster. Every pound raised and every donated gift helps us continue to provide safe housing, free support, and opportunities for those who need it most.

“The kindness shown by our supporters each year reminds us of what community really means, and this festive season is a wonderful time to give back and share that spirit."
