Doncaster Rotary Club to host inuagural charity golf day
Local golfers are being invited to dust off their clubs for a day of fundraising and competition as the Rotary Club of Doncaster St George’s launches a Charity Golf Day.
This October, The Rotary Club of Doncaster St Georges is holding its first golf day at Wheatley Golf Club.
On Friday October 2, the organisation is encouraging individuals, pairs and groups of four to sign up for a round of golf with a 1pm shotgun start.
The aim of the event is to raise funds for club’s Community Grants Programme, which has given financial support to over 100 local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups in Doncaster over the years.

Outside of golfing, there are opportunities to sponsor parts of the event and support fundraising in other ways.
Entry is £60 per person or £240 for a group of four. This includes a round of golf, free ‘nearest the pin’ competitions at holes six and 14, prizes for the top three teams, a two-course hot meal at 6.30pm, a raffle and four-ball vouchers for local courses.
The event is limited to 100 players. Also, it is first come, first served so it’s best to get ahead and book now.
Spokesperson Phillip Knight said: “As this is our first charity golf day, we’re hoping to encourage as many local businesses and golfers as possible to get involved.”
To secure a spot, prospective players must email [email protected] with their names and official handicaps. The organisers will subsequently provide bank details to finalise payment.
