The take-off over DSA has been thrown into turmoil after Reform UK announced an extraordinary meeting on May 11 to revisit a £57 million loan deal agreed to in November, saying fresh evidence had come to light and there was “no blank cheque” for the re-opening of DSA.

Labour has said that if the deal isn’t agreed to, the move would “kill” the airport re-opening.
The last few weeks have seen increasingly bitter exchanges between Mayor Ros Jones and the city’s Reform UK politicians.
The Free Press ran an opinion poll - asking if the Mayor should resign if the loan deal is cancelled.
From the 204 votes cast, 62.25% (127 votes) said she should go. 37.75% (77 votes) of those who voted said she should stay.
Meanwhile, in a separate poll, a narrow majority said Reform UK was most to blame for the crisis.
From 377 votes cast, 51.19% (193 votes) blamed Reform UK, with Labour narrowly behind on 47.21% (178 votes),
Three people each said the Conservatives and “other” parties were to blame.
