Doncaster recording studio and music scheme lands top award
The scheme has been running for more than a quarter of a century
A Doncaster recording studio and music industry project has been presented with a prestigious industry honour.
Higher Rhythm, which is based in Nether Hall Road has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Engagement through Music award from UK Music.
A spokesperson said: “Becoming a member of UK Music’s MAP (Music Academic Partnership) earlier this year, we entered the UK Music Awards.
“UK Music is the collective voice of the UK’s music industry representing and bringing together all sectors to collaborate, campaign, and champion music.
MAP is a collaboration between educational institutions and the membership of UK Music Ltd, and the annual awards shine a light on individuals and organisations making a positive, inclusive impact on people or communities through music.

The spokesperson said: “Doya and Yve from the Higher Rhythm board went over to the event in Manchester and were over the moon to be presented with the award.
“Receiving awards is always good, and we’ve received quite a few over the years that we’ve been very proud of.
“Receiving awards from respected organisations such as UK Music, the lead voice of our industry is even better; however, what beats even that is receiving an award from UK Music for something that is quite literally our core mission… engaging people through music is one of the main reasons that we exist as an organisation, so much so, that this is even ‘hard-coded’ into our company objects.
“This award for Outstanding Contribution to Engagement through Music, is therefore really special for us, as it feels like recognition for what the Higher Rhythm sets out to do, every day, every year.
“We are immensely grateful to UK Music for valuing what we do and presenting us with this award.”
Based in Doncaster since 2001, Higher Rhythm provides music and media industry opportunities and services, mainly across Yorkshire, but beyond as well.
